Cool laptop toy for dogs: the ultimate buying guide
Okay, so check this out, I had this crazy idea the other day and just had to try it out.

My dog, Max, is always bored, right? Like, super energetic and needs constant stimulation. So, I was thinking, what if I could make him a little "laptop" toy? Something to keep him busy and maybe even learn a thing or two. Sounds nuts, I know, but hear me out.
The Brainstorming:
- First, I grabbed an old, broken laptop. Totally dead, no screen, just the shell. Safety first, ya know?
- Then, I started thinking about what Max actually likes. He loves squeaky toys, he loves chewing, and he's obsessed with trying to get treats out of things.
The Build:
So, I popped open the laptop. It was dusty and gross, but perfect for my evil plan. I did these steps:
- Gutted the insides. Like, everything. Wires, motherboard, all that jazz. Just the plastic shell remained.
- Added squeakers. I bought a bunch of cheap squeaky toys and stuffed them inside the laptop, securing them with some strong glue. I made sure they were placed under where the "keys" would be, so when Max paws at it, it squeaks.
- Treat dispenser time! I cut a small hole in the side of the laptop and inserted a tube. This tube leads to a little chamber inside the laptop where I can put treats. He has to paw and nose around to get them out.
- The "Screen". Since the screen was gone, I used some cardboard to make a "screen" and covered it with colorful, dog-safe paint. I even drew some silly pictures of bones and squirrels on it.
- Chew-proof edges. I wrapped the edges of the laptop with tough fabric tape to prevent him from chewing the plastic and swallowing it. Gotta think about those vet bills, man.
The Grand Reveal:
I showed Max the finished product. He was immediately interested. Sniffed it, pawed at it, tried to eat it (of course).
- The squeakers drove him wild. He kept hitting the "keys" over and over.
- It took him a little while to figure out the treat dispenser, but once he did, he was hooked.
- He spent a solid hour just playing with the darn thing. Success!
The Verdict:
Honestly, it's been a hit. He plays with it every day. It's not perfect. He's already starting to rip some of the tape off, so I'll have to reinforce it. But for a DIY project, it's pretty awesome.

The best part? It keeps him entertained and out of my hair while I'm actually trying to work on my real laptop. Win-win!
Lessons Learned:
- Use stronger glue. The squeakers are starting to come loose.
- Reinforce the edges even more. Maybe metal strips?
- Next time, I'll make the treat dispenser a little more challenging.
So yeah, that's the story of my laptop toy for dogs. It's a little crazy, a little janky, but Max loves it, and that's all that matters.
