Want that louis vuitton dog toy vibe? Spoil your furry friend with these stylish designer parody toys.
Alright, so I got this idea stuck in my head the other day. My dog needed a new chew toy, and I saw some ridiculously fancy stuff online. Thought to myself, I could probably make something funnier and way cheaper. So, I decided to try crafting a sort of parody louis vuitton dog toy. Just for laughs, you know?

Getting Started
First thing, I rummaged through my old fabric stash. Found some sturdy beige canvas left over from another project – perfect, tough enough for some chewing. I also had some scraps of darker brown fabric. Needed stuffing, so I just ripped open an old pillow we weren't using anymore. Good enough. Grabbed my heavy-duty thread, a strong needle, and sharp scissors.
Making the Shape and Pattern
I wasn't aiming for anything complicated. A simple bone shape seemed easiest and most dog-appropriate. I drew a template on a piece of cardboard first, then traced it twice onto the canvas fabric.
Then came the tricky bit – the 'designer' look. Obviously, I wasn't trying to make a perfect copy. That's just asking for trouble and looks tacky. I just wanted the vibe. So, I took a brown fabric marker, not even a fancy one, just a standard craft marker. I sketched on some rough little symbols, kinda like squares and simple star-burst things, spaced out across the canvas. Added some squiggly initials. Kept it deliberately messy and playful. It’s a dog toy, after all.
Putting it Together
Okay, cutting time. I cut out the two bone shapes from the canvas.
Then, I placed the two pieces together, pattern side facing inwards. Started sewing. I used a really basic, strong backstitch all around the edge. Made sure the stitches were tight because my dog can be a real destroyer. Left a few inches open on one side.
Stuffing and Finishing Up
Next, I turned the whole thing right-side out through the gap I'd left. Poked out the corners to get the bone shape nice and defined. Then, started stuffing it with the pillow filling. Packed it in there pretty tight so it would hold its shape but still have some squish. Didn't want it too hard or too flimsy.
Once it felt right, I carefully folded the raw edges of the opening inwards and stitched it shut. Tried to make the final stitches neat, so stuffing wouldn't immediately start popping out. Trimmed off any stray threads.
The Result
And there it was. My homemade, totally unofficial, just-for-fun "designer" dog toy. Looked pretty silly, which was the whole point.

Did the dog like it?
Oh yeah. Gave it to her, and she immediately started thrashing it around. The canvas seems to be holding up okay for now, but we'll see how long it lasts. It was a fun little afternoon project, used up some old materials, and gave the dog something new to wreck. Definitely cheaper than buying anything fancy!
