Figuring Out This Flaky Skin Thing

Okay, so my dog, Max, started getting really flaky skin a while back. Like, seriously noticeable white flakes everywhere, especially on his back. Poor guy looked uncomfortable, always scratching a bit more than usual. At first, I didn't think much of it, maybe just seasonal dryness or something.
