Alright, so the other week we finally got our new puppy, a little girl, full of beans already. Problem was, she didn't have a name. And for some reason, my wife was dead set on it starting with an 'E'. Don't know why, maybe she read it somewhere, or it's a family thing. Anyway, 'E' it was.
So my first brilliant move was just shouting random 'E' words. "Eggplant! Elbow! Engine!" Yeah, that didn't last long. The pup just looked at me funny. Okay, plan B. I figured, like everyone else, I'd just look it up online.
My Search Kinda Went Like This
I grabbed my phone, plopped on the couch, and started typing stuff like "girl dog names starting with E". Man, the number of lists that popped up. It was crazy. Pages and pages of 'E' names. Some were okay, some were just... weird. Who names their dog Eucharist? Seriously.

It's funny how you settle on one. We kept coming back to Ember. It wasn't too common, wasn't too weird. Just felt right for her, especially with her reddish-brown spots. So, Ember it is. Took a bit of digging and trying things out, but we got there.
